New Haven Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections that may show who lives or lived in New Haven County, Connecticut. It hosts no government record and is not affiliated with a municipal office, the State of Connecticut, a court, library, assessor, registrar, or other custodian.
2. Lawful Rules for Use
Use the pages and linked resources only in a lawful way. You may not use information found here to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or hurt a person.

3. No Consumer Reports
New Haven Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing on these pages or in a linked result is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. External Services and Links
Connecticut portals, municipal vendors, libraries, archives, sponsored result tools, and other linked services set their own terms and privacy practices. New Haven Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, prices, collection practices, or search results, and is not responsible for those services.
5. No Warranty Promise
The pages are offered “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a detail is accurate, complete, current, or fit for a particular task, or that an outside portal will work or return a correct result. Public records, fees, links, and coverage dates can change.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or a linked resource, including a decision made from information discovered through them.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.
8. Copyright and Permission
The original writing, design, logo, and layout belong to their respective rights holders and are protected by copyright. A link and a short attributed quotation are welcome. Full-page republication or systematic copying is not permitted without permission.
9. Changes to These Terms
New terms may be posted when the reference changes. Continued use after a new version is posted indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Restricting Access
Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms, abuses a page, disrupts an outside service, or threatens site security. That action may occur without advance notice.
11. Connecticut Law
These terms are governed by Connecticut law, without applying conflict-of-law principles. The Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, CGS §§1-200 through 1-242, is the relevant public-records statute for access requests to a Connecticut agency, while CGS chapter 743jj is the Connecticut Data Privacy Act for covered business data. Those laws govern their own custodians and exceptions; they do not make this private reference a records office or require a public custodian to create a new resident profile.
12. Severability
If a court finds one term unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to operate.
